The TiAlN wear protection coating increases the surface hardness of the tool to approx. 3,000 HV/microhardness and the heat resistance up to 900 °C. It is extremely tough, with a high thermal and chemical stability, and increases the service life and cutting values. The TiAIN coating is suitable for dry machining. Particularly suitable for machining unalloyed and alloyed steels (up to 1200 N/mm² high-chromium alloy steels, such as V2A and V4A, as well as cast steel and tough brass.
